Not gonna read the blog. Gonna say it’s the team that will generate the most clicks.

Let’s take a guess at the top 5, he might’ve added an honourable mention as well.

Toronto, Nashville, Buffalo, Philadelphia, Minnesota, New York Rangers, Tampa Bay, Edmonton. 6 of these 8.

Toronto because clicks. Doesn’t matter if they should be or not.

Edmonton under Holland gets at least a year, if they (frank) up again, they’ll be in the top 5 next year.

New York Rangers are still young enough that they aren’t desperate this season. Next year, with Kakko having a year of NHL experience, will be on the list due to their big contract signings.

Nashville and Buffalo are in the thumbnail, so they’re probably in the top 5.

Tampa for the regular season they had, and to finish like that...they’re in the top 5.

Both Minnesota and Philadelphia missed the playoffs this past season, and spent big money in the off-season. Minnesota’s core is older, and the coach has been there longer, so I might give Minnesota the edge.

Top 5:

1. Toronto
2. Tampa Bay
3. Nashville
4. Minnesota
5. Buffalo
Honourable Mention: Philadelphia

Someone read the blog and tell me how I did. Thanks. I’ll hang up now.

This is deep stuff. Reminds me of the playoffs when there were 13 special factors that could predict a series, including Hunger points.

Aside from the very predictable clickbait of the Leafs at #1 I fail to see the logic in some of these other teams. No mention of the pressure in Edmonton to get moving in the right direction. How about the Flames finishing 2nd overall and bombing again in the playoffs. Treveling has made some huge moves to re-shape this team (Lindholm, Hanifin, Hamonic, Neal) and it hasn't worked. Now he's added Lucic, swapped goalies, and if he can't go on a deep run then his job is on the line, as well as his coaching staff. But maybe Ek follows the East a little closer?

Definitely the Leafs. Rebuilds done. Get out of the first round. Babcock needs to go if not, cause this core isnt going anywhere. Hes the biggest change if they dont at least make the 2nd round this year.

Goalie Confidence?
While Frederik Andersen has been sold, he has been outplayed in every Game 7 loss over the last three years...and the Leafs refuse to address with a serious backup.

How the (frank) would that factor in at all in the playoffs? The backup goalie ain't ever gonna play.

Ek got it right, Habs aren't even on the list. You could argue the Habs are desperate to make the playoffs having missed the last couple years but with the best prospect pool in hockey coming in the next 1-3 years making a mistake out of desperation could throw a wrench into all of that. Stay the course, you'll be a contender in 2-3 years.

Well done, Ek

IMO Edmonton should be #1 (or at least on the list). No shock you selected the Leafs, but Edmonton had what? 4 #1 picks in a 6 year span and 1 of those #1's is one of the best in the world. Edmonton can't even make the playoffs. That isn't good. Anyways, just my opinion so agree or disagree it won't change my opinion.

“Recent Successes?
They have gotten better in each of their last three seasons, but they haven’t been able to get past Boston and out of the third round. Despite pushing the Bruins to a 7th game.”

Mmmmm??? Third round??? Do you watch hockey???
